Street's Disciple

[music |Wu Tang Clan - one of these days]

ive recently been paying more attention to It was Written. I never gave that album much love other than The Message, I gave u power, and affirmative action. Well Ive been spinning it a lot at work lately, and aside from my supervisor telling me to turn my shit down..its been getting rave reviews from my co-workers. I never thought they would even listen to anything that wasnt ying yang twins or laffy taffy, but they really enjoyed the album.

Lemme break it down...

The message - classic shit..cb4 gusto and all that.

street dreams - im not gonna lie, I love the remix with kellz a lot more, but I think this track is just genius.

I gave you power - Who else could personify a pistol? Pac compared it to a woman, but Nas told its life story.

Nas is coming - Dre beats and Nas lyrics. At first u think this may come out wack..but it came out kinda nice.

black girl lost - More people need to listen to this track..especially chicken head females. I work with a lot of them, and I should burn this track for them and give it to em for christmas.

Also I never noticed that Trackmasters did a heavy percentage of the tracks on this album.

Shit I dont know how I managed to have this album for so long and not actually pay attention to it. I have HEARD it a million times, I just never took the time to LISTEN to it.

What do yall think? I know I aint talkin to myself here.

Although i'm preachin to the choir, and it might be because I been up all night and need to go to sleep, but I gotta get this off my chest. Nas is a great fuckin artist. After listenin to mad Nas tracks I just had to say that. Anybody who fails to see that clearly dosen't listen to what, and the way that nigga spit.
It Ain't Hard to Tell might be the best song ever made. The way he spits on that is CRAZY. And really, people always say Nas fell off cause he never made an album better than Illmatic, but as funny as this sounds, but its impossible too. If Nas made something better than that, god would take it and bump it in heaven and tell niggas they gotta wait till they die to hear it. And then yo, like trhe first 4 bars on Silent Murder is better than alot of rappers careers. And Stillmatic, the first Jay-Z diss, is a great song despite the diss part. Call me crazy or whatever you want, but I had to say this to somebody, Peace.

Has anyone else heard that supposed freestyle that's been floating around recently? It's a snippet of a God's Son-era track called "My Will", produced by Alchemist. The references in the song fit into that time period (the ROC beef, Murder Inc. rumors, some BET list) but the adlibs at the beginning and end are recent (the honeymoon is over, Ill Will '05, Quan). I'm guessing it'll either be on the Lost Tapes II or the new studio album (hopefully NOT called Nasdaq Dow Jones). Here's a yousendit link for anyone who hasn't heard it:
